To mark this milestone, a church service was held at the Perdmontemps Gospel Hall Church followed by a luncheon for staff and invited guests at the Canal.
Customers were also included in the celebration as they were served refreshments at the Company’s Minimart and Wholesale departments located at Perdmontemps, St. David on October 31st.
In addition, the 45th customers conducting business at both departments on that day also won 45% off their purchases. Margaret Lawrence and Sharon Joseph are the lucky winners!
Some customers also received branded tokens from the Company. One CCS Minimart patron remarked, “I have been with this company since the beginning and I am proud of Mr. Lewis and what he has achieved and done for us.”
According to the founder of the Company, James Lewis: “We started off in a very humble way, meeting the needs of the people in the community. We continue to be humble as we serve customers throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique”.
Lewis’ daughter, Cisley Gabriel, General Manager of CCS echoed her father’s sentiments.
When the Company was founded in 1969 it was with a view towards providing cheaper cuts of meat to the residents of St. David, as there was a demand for these cuts.
The Country Cold Store has expanded to become Grenada’s leading importer of frozen and chilled products with island wide delivery.
The Company also boasts a wide variety of dry goods and a Mini-mart.
