Excitement is in the air as preparation continues for the staging of the first ever Miss Teen Top Model.
Seven young ladies would vie for the right to be crowned as the local Top Teen Model during a show that takes place July 25 at the Grenada Trade Centre in Grand Anse, St. George’s from 5:00 pm.
Director of International Modelling Agency (IMA), Roxanne Graham told THE NEW TODAY Newspaper that the Teen Top Model is geared at inspiring teenaged girls throughout Grenada who have a passion for the runway and model to show off their creativity.
Graham said the finalists of the show who are between the ages of 16 and 18 years were involved in an audition that took place earlier this year at the Esplande Mall in St. George’s.
The participants at the show are Amelia Williams, Aria Buckmire, Antonia Mitchell, Desiree Otway, Semonah Simon, Kerryne James, and Shiniah Andrews.
Training in preparation for the show is being provided by the agency, although some of the young ladies are IMA Models.
The young ladies will compete in five categories on the night of the show – personality wear and introduction, innovative T-Shirt wear where they will display their craftiness in the use of a plain white T-Shirt, swim wear, recyclable wear, and evening wear and speech.
Although there is no National Queen Show as part of this year’s Carnival, Graham said the show is not geared at filling a void for the absence of the much looked forward to Queen Show.
Graham said the show was planned out of an idea to raise funds for a Mr. and Miss Grenada Scholarship Pageant Show scheduled for next year.
Graham said patrons to the Teen Top Model Show which costs $20.00 will have an opportunity to win door prizes.
IMA, which is a local agency, was founded by Kendel Dubois in 1998.
