Police have used the Electronic Crimes Act to press a charge of violation of privacy against 23-year old Shadel Gill of Molinere, St. George.
Gill has been charged with violation of privacy after sharing the image of another woman’s private part without her consent.
The charge was laid by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after a video of a young lady performing pleasurable acts on herself while a male individual looked on surfaced on social media.
THE NEW TODAY understands that the video was making the rounds on WhatsApp during December 2018.
Gill is said to be the girlfriend of the male seen in the video and was suspected of leaking the video to get back at the individual.
She was charged on January 30 for the offence, which is believed to have been committed on December 27, 2018.
Gill is currently on $5000 bail with one surety and is due to make her first court appearance on February 28 at the St. George’s No. 1 Magistrate’s Court.
