It’s a first for Grenada and the Roman Catholic Church on the island.
The Rosary Parish Church at St. Paul’s has unveiled a Memorial Wall in remembrance of the dead.
The Wall is the brainchild of Roman Catholic Priest, Fr. Ronald Holder OP of Barbados who has just demitted office as Parish priest after eight years of service.
New Roman Catholic Bishop, Clyde Harvey was invited on his first official visit to deliver Sunday mass at the church to bless and dedicate the Memorial Wall.
Church officials are working out the cost for persons who want to buy space on the Memorial Wall to inscribe the names of their loved ones who passed away.
Local Funeral home, Otway/Bailey is associated with the Memorial Wall.
During the ceremony, two names were already put on the wall of past Bishops – Vincent Darius OP and Justin James Field OP.
The two are from the Dominican Order which is in charge of the Rosary Parish church at St. Paul’s.
Construction of the Memorial Wall was done under the supervision of prominent Catholic church member, Cecil Frederick.
