The National Democratic Congress Women’s Arm extends its deepest condolences to the family of nine year old Ariel Bhola, whose life was callously ended at the weekend.
We of the Women’s Arm, most of us mothers ourselves, cannot begin to imagine the unspeakable pain and horror being experienced by her family in the face of this tragedy. We pray for strength as they endure and peace as they overcome this trying time.
“We condemn this brutal act and call on the Authorities to bring to swift justice the perpetrators of this heinous crime. It has not gone unnoticed that this is the latest in a series of similar acts perpetrated against our children, especially our girls,” said Women’s Arm President, Jenny Simon.
“We of the Women’s Arm continue our fight for greater enforcement of our existing laws and for a more serious approach by our judiciary to the protection of our Women and children,” she declared.
We also use this opportunity to express our condolences to the family of Alison Baptiste of La Poterie, St. Andrew on his untimely passing. We grieve with his family and send them all our thoughts and prayers.
The Women’s Arm will be visiting the families and will continue to pray that the souls of Ariel Bhola and Alison Baptiste rest in peace.
