“Either write something worth reading or do something writing.” (Unknown)
This is a practical and rational ideal and occurrence of Clare D Briggs-Phillip, an educator, worshipper, wife, sincere and genuine friend of many, patriotic and loyal citizen of Grenada and gifted and talented author.
My love for writing was because of a God-given blessing. I started writing in 1998 upon hearing of the “Independence Theme”. I wrote an article for the the Grenada Today.
Having received the article and inquiring from the editor, if it was printed in the ensuing edition, the woman who answered the telephone said that she was glad that I called and she was delighted to have served me in the capacity.
I felt honoured! Believe me! She was enthused by that article, “Building National Pride through Unity and Patriotism.” She encouraged me to continue to write. I continued and eventually produced my first publication, “Tri-Island Blessings” on 4th February 2015.
After six months, the Ministry of Education has put this product on the textbook list for its schools because of its educational value for our youth.
My second book “Eternal Blessings” was written in recognition and homage to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who has helped me to “bounce back higher” after suffering a nervous breakdown on three occasions moving on my journey in all aspect of life especially spiritually.
Through my writing, I can help others to realise one of my favourite verses in the Bible, Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.
I think my writings may be an inspiration to others in many ways possible. I hope to get the public’s support as I continue writing.
Eternal Blessings will be launched on 24th October, 2017 at the St. George’s Bible Holiness Church, Lucas Street.
