The Grenada Mas Band association has a new executive

At the constitutionally held The Grenada Mas Band association has a new executive.

At the constitutionally held election on Thursday 27th April, 2017, affiliates of the association turned out to select a new executive to lead the body forward for the term.

With an extensive back ground in carnival, more so mas, Ann Pierre, was elected to serve as the new president replacing Andy Chechester.

She will be ably assisted by Calvin Charles from AJ and Associates as the Vice President.

Candida Patrice, one of the funders of St. David Carnival has been elected to serve as the association’s general secretary.

Helen Edwards was reelected as the treasurer; and so too was Chearvon Benjamin to the post of public  relations officer.

Ama Dixon is the new assistant secretary treasurer and Ivy Hinds the new recording secretary, two trustees were also elected, in the persons of Kim Steele and Alister Thomas.

This new executive under the leadership of Ms. Pierre gave a commitment to working towards the development of mas across the island.

In addition, the body was reminded of the urgent need to address a number of burning issues affecting them, especially as it relates to business with the Spicemas Corporation
