The people have chosen local rising soca star Dash to join Shortpree as Digicel Grenada’s newest Brand Ambassador.
The announcement was made at the 13th Anniversary Staff sports and fun day in La Sagesse, St. David on October 16 in front of Digicel staff, their friends and family, and of course supporters and fans of the artiste.
Dash managed to amass enough votes to be victorious over four other local artistes to become the next voice and face of Digicel Grenada.
Dash, whose real name is Shondell Amada, grew up in the village of La Borie in the parish of St. George.
The Soca Monarch 2016 finalist was a Spice Mas favourite this year with his releases of “The Call” and “No Company”.
Dash is a versatile musician as well as an avid drummer in the Royal Grenada Police Force Band.
This is the first time a cultural ambassador has been chosen by the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique and it was indeed a raving success.
The competition was an initiative designed to engage an already active Digicel following, demonstrating once more that the leading telecommunications company in the region is customer-centric in its approach to serving the people of Grenada and its sister isles.
The public can expect to see Dash appear on various Digicel advertising campaigns and at various promotional events, as he assume his new role over the coming months.
“Digicel is proud to welcome Dash as its newest ambassador, we certainly approve the decision of our loyal customers and thank them for their continued support. This is evidence of Dash’s ability to connect with and relate to the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique, and that makes him an important asset to us”, said Ciarán Burke,Digicel Grenada CEO.
“I’d also like to say a huge thank you to all of the nominees who participated in the competition – Boyzie, Lil’ Vaugn, Sandman and Valene. You are all worthy of being Digicel ambassadors and perhaps can be the Digicel People’s Champion in next year’s competition”, he added.
