The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has slapped two men including a male employee of telecommunications company, FLOW with drug charges.
Charges were laid against the duo after officers attached to Drug Squad intercepted a vehicle driven by St Paul in Mt Gay on Sunday 16th October.
The suspects have been identified as Damian St. Paul, a technician working with the telecommunications company, who was the driver of the vehicle and Vincentian Edmund Guy who is living at Telescope, St. Andrew’s.
The 42-year old St. Paul who resides at Harford Village, St. Andrew’s was identified as the driver of the vehicle when members of the Drug Squad swooped down on them.
Sources told THE NEW TODAY that during the police operation that took place at Mt. Gay, St. George’s, the Policemen discovered one hundred and thirty pounds of compressed marijuana.
According to a source close to the investigation, the lawmen are pointing fingers at Guy as the person who had captained a boat that was used to transport the illegal drugs from St. Vincent into Grenada.
Charges of possession and trafficking of a controlled drug, and conspiracy to import a controlled drug have been laid on the two men.
Meanwhile, in another police operation, two fine bags of compressed marijuana were discovered at the Anse La Roche Beach in Carriacou.
Investigations are currently taking place into the discovery of the illegal drugs.
