The T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) is the recipient of a Jac Truck from Steele’s Auto Supplies Co. Ltd; a donation that it will aid the institution in reducing transportation cost.
The $66,000 truck was handed over to the college last Thursday during a brief ceremony attended by TAMCC officials and General Manager of Steele’s Auto Supplies, Jonathan Steele.
In remarks delivered, Steele told those attending the ceremony that it is the responsibility of the company to help the nation move forward and to prosper.
“Steele’s Auto Supplies believes that today, the best way that we can do this is by concentrating on our nation’s youth and what better way to do that than to assist our national education system, especially our sole national tertiary college, TAMCC”, he said.
“…We believe that TAMCC is one of Grenada’s greatest tools to help continually create a better future for our youth, a better and more pure Grenada for our youth. TAMCC is our national institution where our youth are supposed to grow to gain the foundation and opportunities to help them continually become even better men and women and just as important to help them towards achieving their dream, careers and whatever future ambitions they may have in life to come,” he added.
According to Steele, it is his hope that the donation will inspire other companies to come on board and assist in moving Grenada forward. Principal of the T.A. Marryshow Community College, Dr. Jeffrey Britton said the truck will be vital for the transportation of materials and supplies to the two campuses.
“It will reduce significantly the cost for hiring transportation to carry animal feed to the campus at Mirabeau. These gestures of goodwill will enhance our effectiveness in the day-to-day operations of the college. As we continue to make a difference in the lives of our students, we remain grateful to those who contribute to our efforts”, he remarked.
“We are conscientiously aware that an investment in an institution of learning is an economic imperative with sustainable life changing effects,” he said.
