Clifton Paul seeking medical attention in Cuba

Member of Parliament for St. Patrick’s East, Clifton Paul has flown to Cuba for medical attention.

Paul defeated the then sitting Prime Minister Tillman Thomas of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to win the seat in the February 19, 2013 General Elections.

There has been no official word from the ruling New National Party (NNP) about the state of its member’s illness.

Paul serves as the Deputy Speaker in the House of Representatives.

Party insiders have said that Paul would not be defending the seat in the next general election as the NNP is now promoting former School Principal, Pamela Moses as the new candidate.

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell recently appointed Moses as a Parliamentary Secretary for Youth and Sports.
