The agreement was signed last week Thursday by Country Manager James Pitt on behalf of the telecommunications company while General Manager of Spicemas, Kirk Seetahal did the honours for his entity.

Cable & Wireless, now trading as Flow, will continue to be the official sponsor of the Soca Monarch event, which will be called the Flow/SMC Soca Monarch.

The show will take place on August 5 at the National Sporting stadium at Queen’s Park, St. George’s.

In addition to cash sponsorship, Flow will provide technical assistance and connectivity at all carnival main stage shows.

Over the years Cable & Wireless have been very instrumental in the development of the Carnival product and the development of culture and the performing arts on a whole.

Being a major stakeholder for the past decade, millions of dollars have been spent through direct sponsorship of Spicemas and sponsorships of brand ambassadors, major mas and steel bands.

Pitt said that under the new consumer brand the company remains committed “to our corporate social responsibility within the economies and communities in which we operate”.

“Our products and services are of an essential nature and we touch many individuals in some way or form.  We are also committed to enhancing our customer experience and reassures our customers that we will deliver on the best technology, products and services the industry has to offer”, he added.

According to Seetahal, Spicemas Corporation is very appreciative of Cable & Wireless and its continued support and  sponsorship of carnival and was looking forward to a continued good stakeholder relationship.

Meanwhile, Cable & Wireless has renewed its relationship with top soca artiste, Wilt “Tallpree” Cambridge for another year.

The event, which took place on July 21, was historic as Talpree became the first Brand Ambassador to be officially signed under the new Flow.

The signing took place between Country Manager Pitt and Ambassador Cambridge at the Cable & Wireless head office at Mt. Hartman, St. George’s in the presence of company officials and manager of the artiste, Dexter Mitchell.

This marks the eighth year that Cambridge has been endorsed by the company and according to Mitchell, “Cable & Wireless have been very supportive of the Artiste and we are very grateful for the support and brand alignment”.

In commenting on the signing, Pitt indicated that “Tallpree” has demonstrated a great sense of maturity in the artform and has represented Grenada well as a cultural ambassador, and also represented our company well, hence the reason for re-signing him as a new Flow Ambassador.

This year Tallpree will be hosting two major events of which Flow is extremely proud to be the presenting sponsor – Uncle Tallpree Kids Fiesta (held last week Saturday) and Pree Day, which is now a signature carnival event.
