For yet another year, the hosting of Kids Fest in June has resulted in the Bel Air Home for Children and Adolescents getting assistance from Real Value IGA supermarket.
A total of nine thousand and forty-three dollars ($9043.00) was donated by the supermarket to the home to help with its upkeep and continued operation.
As part of the supermarket’s Community Outreach Initiative, the management of the supermarket pledged its support to the home through the hosting of Kids Fest.
General Manager of Real Value IGA, Raymond Steele presented the cheque last week Thursday at the home in Calliste, St. George’s.
“This is one of our main responsibilities, providing assistance to the homes in the neighbourhood and throughout the island. We do contribute to a number of homes but Belair has a special place in our hearts and every year we are grateful to contribute to their operations”, Steele told the ceremony.
“…This year we have a cheque for 9 thousand plus dollars and we are aiming next year to supersede that because we really would like to contribute as much as possible to this home.
We know that you are doing a wonderful job here and we have always been satisfied with the work they do here,” he said.
Accepting the cheque on behalf of the home was Deputy Manager, Alison Greene who expressed appreciation for the kind gesture.
“Thank you to Real Value IGA Supermarket for their continuous generous donation to the home. IGA over the years has continuously supported our home and we’re very appreciative today of this generous donation.
“… We would like you to know that this would go a very long way in helping to meet the running cost of the home because as you know, today in this very hard economic times every dollar counts.
