After three months of receiving entries, Sol’s Free Fuel for life Promotion has finally ended with Luana Minors being the lucky customer who wins free fuel until age 70.
The promotion began on January 27 and culminated on Monday at David Otway Gas station on Kirani James Boulevard, where the draw took place in the presence of a representative from PKF Accountants and Business Advisors.
For a limited spending of $50 or more on Gasoline or Diesel, customers got a chance to enter the draw for a chance to win the top prize.
Thousands of entry slips were placed into a barrel and shuffled on Monday, when the name of Luana Minors came out for Free Fuel for Life.
Three other consolation prize winners were also randomly picked – Kenroy Alexander of Paraclete, St Andrew was the winner for free fuel for one year, while Marvin Hayling of Tempe in St George won free fuel for six months and Latoya Crayne of Grand Bacolet, St Andrew wins free fuel for three months.
Under the terms and conditions of the promotion, the grand prize winner will receive free fuel once a month until she reaches age 70.
This also goes for the consolation prize winners.
After the grand prizewinner was named, Minors was visited at her home by a SOL party to break the news to her.
Star-struck Minors said she did not believe that she was going to win but welcomed the grand prize with open arms.
In reflecting on the three-month long promotion, dealer representative, Nigel Garcia described the promotion as a successful run for the company.
“We had an exciting time with this programme…our customers were really excited, our volume would have increased and customers really appreciated what Sol is doing to say thanks,” he remarked.
Country Manager of SOL Grenada Limited, George Bain explained the rationale behind such promotions by the company.
“They’re normally very big and it’s to really say thank you to our regular supporters and customers who come to our Sol Service Stations. It’s also to give an opportunity to customers who may not, necessarily come to our service stations to have a chance to win but also to experience our services, which as I always say is our differentiating factor. We strive for excellent service,” he said.
