Suzuki gives birth to fourth generation Vitara

The new 2016 Suzuki Vitara, which is the fourth generation of that model of vehicle, has made its way onto the Grenada Market.

The vehicle is selling at an introductory price of $85,000 for the four by two, and $105,000 and 107,000 for the four by four.

The unveiling of the vehicle was done by the wife of one of the island’s leading vehicle dealers, Lucy Steele and her daughter-in-law, Michelle Steele.

It was done as part of the ceremonial launching last week Thursday at the Suzuki Showroom of Steele’s Complex in Grand Anse, St. George’s.

Sales Manager Nigel Hypolite told THE NEW TODAY newspaper he is confident that the new line of vehicle will take control of the local market.

He said since its introduction to Grenada in 1988, Suzuki Vitara has become a household name.

Hypolite who provided the genesis of the Vitara during the launching ceremony spoke of the current generation coming into operation in 2005 indicating that it has remained “a strong seller around the world.”

According to the Sales Manager, ever since its market launch, the Suzuki Vitara series has earned accolades for stylish, city-oriented design, compact easy to manage dimension, comfortable on the road performance, and genuine off-road capabilities.

Suzuki’s Office Manager, Abigail Francis who outlined the main features of the new 2016 Suzuki Vitara spoke of the Four-Wheel Drive “Allgrip” system being the main attraction.

Francis said it has four driver-selectable modes that include auto, sport, snow and lock, which can be selected by the driver using a push-and-turn dial on the centre console.

The Vitara comes equipped with six-speed automatic, radar brake support, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist system, electronic stability control, adaptive cruise control, rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, and seven air bags among other features.

Francis said “Suzuki has achieved the ideal concept of fun to drive, peace of mind, and high fuel-efficiency.”

The Vitara is Suzuki’s flagship vehicle, which has already gone through more than 25 years of evolution.

The launch of the new line of Suzuki Vitara came at the same time as Steele’s Auto Supplies, the local agent is celebrating its 47th anniversary in business.
