For academic year 2015/2016, thirteen (13) students are benefitting from the Republic Bank UWI Open Campus Bursary Programme.
For this semester, $20,306.00 (Twenty Thousand, Three Hundred & Six Dollars), were paid, to support Grenadian students pursuing higher learning through the UWI Open Campus Programme.
During a brief presentation ceremony held at the local Open Campus site, Republic Bank’s Manager – Finance, Elizabeth Richards-Daniel presented the cheque to Dr. Nichole Phillips-Dowe, Head of the local Campus.
This gesture is in keeping with the Bank’s promise to assist Grenadian nationals with opportunities to advance and develop educationally, in collaboration with the University of the West Indies.
On making the presentation, Richards-Daniel applauded the students on their determination to pursue their academic goals.
The programme allows persons to remain at home while pursuing a bachelor’s degree online.
For academic year 2015/2016, a total of $39, 689.00 (Thirty Nine Thousand, Six Hundred & Eighty Nine Dollars) were paid in bursaries and complements the Bank’s Scholarship programme, made available each year to assist one (1) qualified Grenadian pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree full time at any of the UWI campuses in the region.
Eligibility for both Scholarship and Bursary is based on academic ability and financial need.
