A Mt. Gay, St. George’s man has to answer to seven charges that were laid against him by members of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF).
Kade Kellon Richards is facing one count each of attempted non-capital murder, rape, attempted rape, assault with a deadly weapon, damage to property, and two counts of stealing.
According to a police bulletin, the offenses allegedly occurred between February 17th and 26th.
The 33-year old Richards appeared at the St. George’s No.1 Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday without legal Counsel.
He informed Chief Magistrate Tamara Gill that he intends to retain an attorney-at-law to defend him against the charges.
The court was told by the Police Prosecution that Richards who had received a four-year jail sentence in July 2004, was fined $500 as compensation last December for causing harm, and then again had a conviction on January 20th where he was given a three-month suspended sentence.
Richards was remanded to custody at the Richmond Hill Prisons, and is due back in court on March 10th for the summary charges of stealing.
The other matters which were laid indictable are scheduled for hearing on March 18th.
Meanwhile, a charge of stealing was laid against River Road, St. George’s Residents, 23-year old Sean Noel who is a Welder by profession, as well as on 49-year old Entertainer, Ricky Jones, and 34-year old Ian Whiteman who is a construction worker.
They are accused of attacking a resident of Darbeau, St. George’s last week Saturday.
A 17-year old male of LaFemme, St. David’s is also charged for the offenses of housebreaking and stealing articles valued at $2,000 which belong to The Temple of Faith Church sometime between February 16th and 17th.
