Park Lane resident, Karlene Charles, 27, was last week Friday arrested and slapped with two indictable drugs related charges after police discovered a quantity of marijuana stashed away inside her home.
THE NEW TODAY understands that approximately 16 pounds of the illegal substance was found camouflaged inside a blue plastic bag during a police operation.
Police have said that the illegal drugs carry an estimated street value of approximately EC$20, 288.
Charles, who retained the services of Attorney-at Law, Peter David, is charged with possession and trafficking of a controlled drug.
The accused made her first appearance at the No.1 Magistrate’s Court on Monday in front of Chief Magistrate Tamara Gill, who granted her bail in the sum of EC$40, 000 with 2 sureties.
Charles is due to return to court on January 26, 2016.
In recent months, the Drug Squad of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has made several arrest of persons engaged in the illegal drug trade.
