St. George’s resident Ken Gilbert, 43, was Tuesday sentenced to 5 years behind bars on an abduction charge and 3 years and 9 months on a charge of indecent assault to run concurrently.
Gilbert, who is originally from Darbeau but resided at Lucas Street, St. George was apprehended by police officers earlier this year on January 10th and slapped with 3 offences, rape, abduction, and indecent assault.
His arrest came after he was suspected to be the culprit that abducted an under-aged girl, who was at the time a student of St. George’s Anglican Junior School.
Gilbert, who was represented by Attorney-at-Law Peter David, pleaded guilty on October 5 to the charges of abduction, and indecent assault but not guilty to the rape charge before High Court Judge, Justice Aziz, who presides over the No.1 High Court in St. George’s.
