Reigning 400 metre Olympic champion, Kirani James met with a team from the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) led by the Chief Executive Officer, Rudy Grant on Monday.
A GTA release said that this preliminary meeting was in an effort to ignite a working relationship with Grenada’s world-renowned athlete.
“Kirani has done well for himself and for Grenada. We see a lot of positives coming out of a partnership with him that can contribute to the marketing of Grenada, Carriacou & Petite Martinique, while also supporting his sporting career”, said Grant.
“These preliminary discussions are exciting for us.
The GTA will deepen and strengthen this relationship with him, and proceed to engage his management team,” he added.
The GTA’s team included senior marketing executives, Delysia De Coteau and Nisha Mc Intyre, and Corporate Communications Officer, Chrislyn Lashington.
The board of directors and staff of the Grenada Tourism Authority are avid supporters of James and are already cheering him on as he prepares for the Olympic games in 2016.
