Three persons are currently nursing injuries at the St. George’s General Hospital after the vehicles they were traveling in collided with each other on Tuesday morning.
The New Today understands that the incident happened sometime between 10.00 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. in the Happy Hill/Beausejour area of St. George North-west.
Officer-in-Charge of the Community Relations Department (CRD) of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sylvan McIntyre told this newspaper Tuesday that the accident can be considered to be a serious one.
He confirmed that a white Toyota Corolla with license plate number PAA 127 collided with a truck carrying the license number TS 499 while traveling in opposite directions.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that the car ended up underneath the truck severely injuring two passengers inside the vehicle.
One other person on the truck also had to be taken to the hospital for medical attention.
The police could not tell give information on the conditions of the injured persons but did indicate that investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
