Two residents of the parish of St Patrick are currently nursing stab and chop wounds at the St. George’s General Hospital following an altercation at Rose Hill.
THE NEW TODAY understands that Police were called in to probe the chopping incident that took place some time after 4.00 a.m in the early hours of last Sunday Morning.
Information reaching our News Desk indicate that the incident involved Davis Stanisclaus, a resident of Mt Rich and Randy Bartholomew who is from Duquense in St. Mark’s.
The two men were both patrons at the launch of the Pink Panther J’ouvert Band on Rose Hill Hard court.
It is believed that after the launch, the duo had an altercation that ended very sour.
There are unconfirmed reports that Stanisclaus and Bartholomew had problems before, over an alleged stabbing and the robbery of a piece of Jewellery.
A police source told this newspaper it is not clear as to what started the conflict as the investigation is still ongoing.
However, it is alleged that Bartholomew stabbed Stanisclaus approximately twice and in turn friends of the injured man then inflicted a number of chops to the body of Bartholomew.
Bartholomew has been described as a former national athlete and is the brother of world rated 400 metre runner, Rondell Bartholomew.
THE NEW TODAY understands that the injured Bartholomew received one chop wound to his face and another to his neck.
He is said to be in stable condition at the General Hospital.
No one has been arrested for the chopping incident but the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) confirmed that there are at least two persons in custody assisting them with their investigation.
