Medical student, Stephen Petrou won a trip to Carriacou for himself and three friends by uploading pictures of Grenada on Instagram with the hashtag #FollowGrenada.
He entered into the competition under the Grenada Tourism Authority’s Follow Grenada campaign which specifically targets the six thousand students of St. George’s University (SGU).
At the university’s Orientation Bazaar last week Sunday which welcomed nine hundred new students, Petrou was presented with his prize certificate by Chrislyn Lashington, Corporate Communications Officer and cheered on by Bèlè dancers and other members of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA).
The Follow Grenada campaign was launched in August 2014 at the beginning of the fall semester as an eBusiness initiative.
It encourages students to experience the sites, attractions, and culture of Grenada and share their photo and video memoirs on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
“Phase two of this partnership between the GTA and SGU will take effect mid-year and will offer discounts to the friends and families of students coming to holiday in Grenada,” said Orlando Romain, eBusiness Manager.
