The Marine Unit of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) was given a monetary gift of $4094.00 EC from Camper and Nicholson Port Louis Marina.
The funds were handed over by Assistant General Manager, Danny Donelan to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Edvin Martin to conduct repairs to one of the maritime vessels, The Levera.
The handing over ceremony was held January 21 at Spice Island Marine, True Blue, St. George, where The Levera is currently in dry dock awaiting repairs.
In presenting the cheque, Donelan expressed his company’s delight in assisting the Maritime Unit and at the same time gave the assurance of his company’s commitment in working together with RGPF in ensuring Grenada remains safe.
If all goes as planned the 19 year old vessel, which is critical to the RGPF’s maritime operations and has been unseaworthy for quite some months, will be handed back to the RGPF within a week.
Repair work to the vessel will be done by Technick Yacht Services Limited.
The RGPF expresses its sincerest gratitude to Camper and Nicholson Port Louis Marina for their timely gift which will go a long way in assisting the Maritime Unit in its obligation to the maritime security of our nation.
