The state-controlled Grenada Postal Corporation (GPC) is giving back to its customers this Christmas, as it creates opportunities for them to win vouchers that will provide for much easier online shopping.
GPC launched “A Wonderful Christmas” promotion last Friday at its main office at Burns Point on the Carenage to encourage customers to take advantage of their GPC Global, Express Mail and Parcel Post services.
Member of the Board of Directors, Devon Rachae said this was a first time initiative for the corporation because it recognises the changing trends in business, which is moving more towards the use of technology.
“We also recognise that we have many Grenadians in the Diaspora and over the years persons look for ways to actually send Christmas gifts and packages to their children who are studying oversees and their family members who are now in the Diaspora”, he said.
“So the Postal Corporation through the Board of Directors is seeking to reposition itself to cater for the modern customer who is seeking to exploit the opportunities provided by technology and to provide an opportunity for persons to be able to communicate with their families oversees,” he added.
Marketing Officer of GPC, Ann Marie Adonis explained to reporters how persons could win with the Christmas promotion.
“Monday the 1st December to 21st December customers using GPC Global can have a chance to win $100 vouchers by Grenada Postal Corporation. All they have to do is receive an item weighing 10 pounds per entry and with that they will be in a draw and they can win 100 dollars,” she said.
“Persons using Parcel Post and Express Mail Service – they will be in a draw to win 25 dollar vouchers from GPC. This is a way of saying thank you for using us as their medium to send and receive items from distant lands,” she remarked.
Rachae, a former candidate for the ruling New National Party (NNP) in the 2008 general elections, pointed out how the various winners could cash in their vouchers.
“In terms of the vouchers that will be given as part of the promotion, customers will be given the opportunity to redeem this voucher in the first quarter of 2015 and these vouchers can be used as distant vouchers for orders that are done through GPC Global and Services of Parcel Post and Express Mail in the first quarter of 2015.
“…So the Postal Corporation is seeking to (one) give back to its customers and (two) add value to the Christmas celebration by giving customers the opportunity to win in doing business (with) the Grenada Postal Corporation.
The Postal Corporation will be extending its hours of operations to the public for the Christmas holiday and December 8 to December 23 the new opening hours are from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. but on Christmas Eve, it will be closing its doors at 12 noon.
