The nominations are in! Soon the companies and individuals that have been identified for recognition and awards when the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GCIC) hosts it 26th annual Business Awards for Excellence will be known.
The gala awards ceremony which is being held under the theme “Embracing Digital Technology for Business Excellence” is set for November 15th at the Grenada Trade Centre in Grand Anse.
The festivities get underway at 6:30p.m. with a welcome cocktail reception.
Forty-one companies and individuals have been nominated in 15 categories, and the GCIC will also be presenting three special awards.
The categories to be won are Environmental Excellence, Environmental Excellence in Tourism, Corporate Social Responsibility, Service Excellence, Service Excellence in Tourism, Exporter of the Year, Manufacturer of the Year, Manufacturer of the Year – Agro Processing, Excellence in Agricultural Services (farmers), Rising Star, Small Business of the Year, Employer of the Year, Dr Nicholas Earle Brathwaite Award for Excellence in Application of Digital Technology, Business Leader of the Year and Business of the Year.
The decision was taken this year to promote the event under the theme “Embracing Digital Technology for Business Excellence” to encourage more of Grenada’s business to make use of the new technology so easily available to them.
The business community, supporters and well-wishers are expected to turn out in large numbers to celebrate with the nominees and those who will win awards in the various categories.
“With the challenges currently facing businesses in a sluggish economy, it is important to recognise, encourage and applaud the efforts of companies that continue to deliver excellent service,” said Ruel Edwards, President of the GCIC.
