Soubise resident, Tina Mitchell and her 5 school-aged children were left without shelter and basic necessities when their home was completely destroyed by fire on March 22.

A request for assistance was sent to Country Cold Store Ltd (CCS) from the Marquis Church of God Women’s Group on behalf of the affected mother.

According to General Manager of CCS, Cisley Gabriel, the company that is located at Perdmontemps, St. David’s had little or no choice but to give a commitment to the worthy cause.

“We pride ourselves in meeting the needs of the communities we serve and did not hesitate to answer the call for help. We are pleased that we were able to assist Ms. Mitchell and her family during this trying time”, she said.

President of the Women’s Group, Shirley Gibbs and another church member, Tina Mitchell were both at the remains of Mitchell’s home, where the presentation was made by Sales and Marketing Supervisor, CCS, Josephine Walters.

Both ladies were very thankful to CCS for the assistance given and noted that the Company responded speedily to the letter requesting help for Mitchell and her family.

Country Cold Store has been in existence since 1969. The company is the brain child of businessman James Lewis who responded to the demand for cheaper poultry in his community – St. David.

The business expanded as demand grew and is now Grenada’s leading importer of Meat, Frozen and chilled foods.

Dry goods have been added to the inventory and a Mini Mart is housed on the company’s compound at Perdmontemps.

CCS delivers a full complement of frozen, chilled and dry goods to customers throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
