Digicel is once again the title sponsor of the Tri De SpiceGrenada International Triathlon.
The event will be held this year on Easter Sunday (April 20) in the Port Louis Marina location.
Races will take place on the Kirani James Boulevard, the Port Highway and the Carenage.
The first race starts at 8.30a.m. and it is an all-day event.
Digicel’s Country Manager Patricia Maher, who was present at the launch event on Monday, said, “Digicel is delighted to sponsor this international sporting event that is all embracing for the community with Olympic, Sprint and Try de Tri levels of competition.
Maher added that, “schools throughout Grenada can participate and are not required to pay an entry fee.
“Adults and children can participate in this family fun day to be enjoyed even if you are not participating in the swim, bike and run races”, she remarked.
“The public is invited to the event and even if you are not participating with the over 200 entrants in the competitions, you and family can enjoy an Easter Sunday at a well-organized, international standard, triathlon event”, she said..
According to the local Digicel boss, “Events such as the Tri De Spice Grenada International Triathlon encourage sport, healthy living, and tourism to the Spice Island, with over 100 participants coming in from overseas.
She also noted that “it requires a lot of hard work and dedication to pull off an event of this magnitude and Digicel is proud to be the title sponsor of Tri De Spice for 2014”.
Digicel is grateful to the De Caul family who are hosting the event as well as the other Sponsors who contribute to make it happen.
