Grenadians to experience the FIFA World Cup Trophy

Football Fans will get an opportunity to have their photographs taken with the coveted FIFA World Cup Trophy when it gets here in the next ten days.

Grenada is one of 89 countries in which the solid gold World Cup Trophy for supremacy in football will make its way as a build up to the 2014 Football World Cup in Brazil compliments Coca Cola.

The US$10M prized trophy will fly into the country at about 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28 on board a Coca Cola Branded Jet Plane for a 24-hour stop over.

During the visit, a specially organised event for football fans will take place at the Morne Rouge Playing Field.

Aaron La Grenade, Marketing Representative of the Grenada Bottling Company, producers of Coca Cola told members of the media that the company, through a promotion will be providing tickets to lucky persons that would give them the chance to have their photos taken with the trophy.

The tickets can be acquired by participants being able to recover three labels bearing the word “Gold” from a 20 ounce Coca Cola Soft Drink that is produced locally.

Access to also win a ticket can also be had through the Grenada Bottling Company’s FaceBook Page.

The Coca Cola marketing Representative said Grenada is privileged to be one of the 89 countries to be part of the trophy’s visit as it makes its way to Brazil for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

He said the local brewing company is prepared to give it trophy) a “warm Grenadian welcome.”

Grenada, one of two countries in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) involved in the manufacture of Coca Cola, produced its first bottle of the soft drink 53 years ago.
