Automotive and electronic store, SP’s International Trading Ltd. has been named the recipient of this year’s ‘People’s Choice Award’.
The award was a collaboration between the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce Business (GCIC) and LIME.
The winner was announced on the night of the GCIC’s annual Banquet and Business awards on November 23 at the Grenada Trade Centre.
While the company has co-sponsored the award in the past, LIME was the sole telecommunications sponsor and facilitator of this year’s award.
The award allowed the general population to text the name of a business they believed displayed outstanding customer service.
Participants were asked to text in their responses to the number- VOTE or 8683 for a chance to win a Q5 Blackberry Smartphone, 6 months free broadband service or $100 in phone credit – all compliments LIME.
The promotion ran for a week with four businesses on the island receiving the most votes: Jonas Browne and Hubbards, Grenada Co-operative Bank, Tambran by Tamara and SP’s International Trading.
In all over thirty businesses across the island received votes from the public.
LIME’s General Manager Angus Steele heartily congratulated SP’s International Trading Ltd. on winning this year’s award.
Steele said the company is happy to sponsor the People’s Choice Award for the second time.
He said the manner in which the award is conducted, is also highly commendable.
“We’re happy to allow the public to participate in deciding for themselves. They are the ones who interact with the businesses and are better equipped to determine the winner, rather than the businesses deciding amongst themselves”, he added.
The voting was facilitated using LIME’s Bulk SMS service, otherwise known as BUSS.
BUSS allows for interactive text messaging, allowing people to vote, conduct polls and be informed on LIME promotions, specials offers, amongst other things.
