Radio Personality Jason Skeete has pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault, and ordered by a Magistrate to pay a hefty fine for his transgression.
Skeete who worked with some of the leading media houses in the country as a radio broadcaster, was charged by local police for making several sexual advances to a female secretary who resides at Grand Anse, St. George’s.
The convicted man who appeared before Magistrate Tamara Gill last week committed a series of offenses over a period of time against the young lady who was then 22 years.
Speculation is ripe that Skeete pleaded guilty based on a deal allegedly stuck between his lawyer and the Prosecution.
Magistrate Gill fined the accused $1,000.00 on each of the two counts to be paid in four months and in default serve four months in prison.
Additionally, Skeete was ordered to pay compensation to the victim in the sum of $5,000.00 within four months, or spend four months in jail in default.
The lawmen got into action after receiving a complaint from the young lady that after refusing to enter into a personal relationship with Skeete the situation got out of hand.
In one instance, Skeete allegedly exposed himself to the Secretary before proceeding to touch her on several parts of her body including her breast, vagina and buttocks.
The Radio Personality who had a stint with a leading FM radio station in neighbouring Trinidad and Tobago served with several radio stations including the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN).
Skeete currently operates his own advertising company.
