Shortly, when the residents of the forty year old Charles Memorial Home, most of whom are disabled or handicapped, need to use wash room or toilet facilities they would be able to do so more conveniently and in more spacious surroundings made possible by Digicel.
It has been said, “The test of a people is how they behave toward the old. It is easy to love children. Even tyrants and dictators make a point of being fond of children. But the affection and care of the old, the incurable, the helpless are the true gold of a culture.”
The extraordinary and unique development of the Grenadian society has been because of the hard work and dedication of those who are today the elderly of our society. It is with this in mind that Digicel has committed to making the lives of the residents of the Charles Memorial Home in the parish of St. Mark more bearable and enjoyable.
“Digicel has always demonstrated a commitment and interest in persons with special needs whether old or young, this refurbishment is another demonstration of this commitment,” said country manager Patricia Maher.”
Digicel would be funding the renovation and extension of the Home’s wash rooms and toilet facilities in an effort to enhance the convenience for the elderly making it easier for the disabled and handicapped residents to use these facilities.
Digicel would be donating $35,000 to this endeavor.
