Five customers of the Grenada Electricity Services Limited (Grenlec) have won the right to get one month free of electricity consumption.
The five, Joiey Andrew from Top Hill, Carriacou, Agnes Barber of Calliste, St. George’s, James and Gwendale Bruno from St. Paul’s, St. George’s, Helena Antoine of Mt. Gay, St. George’s, and Hudson Buckmire from Frequente, St. George’s are the first set of winners in the year-long Grenlec “Bill For Free” (BFF) promotion.
However, only Bruno and Buckmire were on hand Monday to be recognized by Grenlec as winners in their recently launched promotion.
Interim Chief Executive Officer of Grenlec, Clive Hosten who officiated at the ceremony that took place at the Dusty Highway location said Grenlec is pleased to be able to reward its customers.
Hosten said they are even more happy when customers can keep their accounts current and pay their bills by the due date.
Bruno who was excited over being one of the winners indicated that it is good to pay the bill on time.
She said having been exempted from having to pay the electricity bill for one month will definitely go a long way in helping her to better manage her finances.
The other winner, Buckmire, was equally elated to have been a winner.
He said the promotion serves well for customers in what is regarded as the hard economic times.
Grenlec’s Assistant Customer Services Manager, Janelle Lyons spoke of the participation of the BFF promotion having been great among customers.
Lyons said that from all indications, customers have embraced the promotion as they now have the opportunity to get their bills taken care of by the lone electricity company.
Each monthly winner will get a maximum of $400.00 to help take care of their electricity bill. The final monthly draw will take place in November.
In the BFF promotion, Grenlec customers who pay their bills on time and are up to date with their payments are qualified for the competition.
Later this year, the grand prize winner who will have his electricity bill paid for one year will be announced.
