LIME has entered into a long-term agreement with the Horticultural Society of Grenada (HSG).
According to a release from the telecoms provider, the two joined forces to host the biennial Flower Show held at the Convention Centre of The Grenada Grand Beach Hotel, Grand Anse from November 24-25.
The release said that the event showcased the rich diversity of plants, flowers, fruits, vegetables and spices grown on the island by talented horticulturalists, gardeners and flower arrangers.
“The show is one of the most popular events on the island and was again well attended. A major part of the show was the outdoor living free food demonstrations and – all of this to the music of Barracuda”, it added.
Earlier this year, LIME also supported the HSG as they travelled to Trinidad and Tobago to promote Grenada.
The Grenada Arts Council also exhibited art work for sale with a botanical theme at the Convention Centre.
Scores of Florists displayed products from their garden and their unique abilities to put these together in their own way.
Commenting on the sponsorship given to HSG, General Manager LIME Angus Steele said, “this is an area that is full of potential and young talented Grenadians can have career beginnings through the efforts of the HSG”.
LIME’s contribution totalled approximately $5000 with the overall winner, Margaret Beatson receiving a Samsung Tablet – compliments LIME.
Beatson was awarded the tablet for the “Best in Show” award, that is, what the judges thought was the best plant entry in the entire show – the national flower of Grenada, Carriacou and Petiti Martinique – the Bouganvillea.
