Speaker of the House of Representatives, George Mc Guire is among two prominent persons to fall victims to thieves.
The other is businessman, Kenny Lalsingh who along with Mc Guire were members of the New National Party (NNP) of late Prime Minister H.A Blaize which won the first general elections on the island following the collapse of the 1979-83 Grenada Revolution.
Mc Guire was elected in December 1984 as the Member of Parliament for the Town of St. George while Lalsingh won the St. Patrick West Constituency in the same election
Reports reaching THE NEW TODAY indicate that Mc Guire, a former Minister of Education & Sports in the 1980’s lost a quantity of jewelry last week Tuesday after his house at Mt. Wheldale, St. George’s was broken into.
A source told this newspaper that the thief entered the house by removing three panes of glass from a louvres window.
Lalsingh who operates the Kalico Shopping Centre in Sauteurs loss a quantity of brandy, phone cards and cash amounting to $3,250.00 at his business premises in the north of the island.
Police are said to be investigating the two incidents.
