On Thursday the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned people against cruise liner regardless of vaccine status, following a recent surge in positive cowpea cases as the omicron variant spreads around the world.

The CDC has raised the travel alert for cruise ships to a very high level. The agency is currently investigating or observing dozens of cruise ships that exploded in Coimbatore.

The CDC warns that govt spreads easily among close people on ships, and even those who have been vaccinated and received a booster dose are more likely to catch the virus on a voyage.

“Especially travelers who are in one place are very important High risk of serious diseases From COVID-19, avoid cruises worldwide, including cruise ships, regardless of vaccine status, “the CDC said.

The CDC advises those who decide to travel by cruise to be vaccinated before their voyage and to receive a booster dose if eligible. According to the CDC, fully vaccinated passengers should be self-isolated for five days after travel. Masks should also be worn in shared areas.

Shares of Royal Caribbean Cruise, Norwegian Cruise Line and Carnival declined in the news. Brian Salerno, with the Cruise Lines International Association, said the trade group was disappointed with the CDC’s decision.

“Today we are apparently disappointed with the CDC’s decision to increase the volume of voyages for voyages — especially due to the high efficiency of travel protocols, which result in significantly fewer cases on board compared to land,” Salerno said.
