January 31st, 2017 is the date set for a hearing in a sexually-related case involving Syrian Businessman Aiham Shammas.
Shammas who operates an appliance store on St. John’s Street, St. George’s, is accused of engaging in indecent assault, and indecent exposure with a 15-year old school child inside of his vehicle last month.
The accused who was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 made his first appearance in court on Monday before Chief Magistrate, Her Honour Tamara Gill.
However, the matter had to be adjourned as the Prosecution Department was not prepared to start the case.
Additionally, the defense had not yet been provided with disclosure of the witness statements in the case.
Shammas who resides at Lance Aux Epines, St. George’s is being represented by seasoned attorney Anselm Clouden, and Derick Sylvester.
