December 5th marked the opening of the brand new state of the art Grenada Public Service Co-operative Credit Union (PSCCU) now trading as Ariza Credit Union.
The new home of Ariza which carries a colour scheme of Blue and Orange is located at the Bruce Street Mall on the Esplanade and now offers all of its services within one location – much different from what used to be offered on Church Street, where the Loans department was separated from the other banking services.
With the new name comes new services and innovation towards meeting customers/members needs.
Officials of the Credit Union held a press conference at its new location on Monday explaining the new brand and what customers/members can expect as a result.
President of the Credit Union, Christopher DeAllie explained some of the benefits that rebranding and new location will bring.
“You would notice that in this building we have merged our operations from where we were on Church Street…loans were in one building and cashiers and other stuff was in another building …in this building we have put everything in one. So when you come here you get all your services in this particular building. We believe that will also save us in terms of convenience to our members, offer new convenience to them and for us in terms of cost it is a little less”, he said.
“…The entire operations in terms of the Credit Union, in terms of its back office operations as well as its management staff loans, member care, ATMs, cash services…everything is located in this facility and as I indicated earlier we believe that the convenience in terms of where we are located,” he added.
Chief Executive Officer of Ariza, LuciaLivingston-Andall is confident that the new brand will fit every demand of their members.
“Traditionally, we are Grenada Public Service Credit Union and traditionally our bond has always been public officers. We recognised that that sector has not been growing as fast as it was; therefore, over the past couple of years we made a number of changes to (take in) the other persons into the Credit Union. So now our bond is not just public officers. We first change the bond to include spouses and children of public officers.
“We subsequently changed the bond to include all Grenadians and now our bond is open to include all Caricom nationals because of course we are operating within a market of Caribbean Single Market and Economy and therefore we have to offer national treatment to all of our Caricom nationals. Their needs are differing and changing, so we would have had to offer a number of new technology driven products.
“…We have been the first Credit Union to offer ATM services, we then moved to offering international debit card services so that you can use your card anywhere in the world and get access to your cash. We have also moved to have mobile online and internet banking service…we are completely innovative to meet the needs of our new membership.
Marketing Manager at Ariza, Kimalyn Regis explained the rationale behind selecting the new name as part of the rebranding exercise.
“ (We) wanted our name to reflect the passion and the drive of what we want our members to aspire to. We wanted a name that everyone could identify with because the concept is you can achieve what you work towards and what you aspire to at Ariza,” Regis said.
The new brand is bringing with it two promotions which will benefit both members and non-members – the Cherry Christmas Promotion where you get Christmas loans of up to $10,000 and Own Your Own Promotion where a special rate of 5.99% is being offered on Mortgage and Land loans and 6.99% on vehicles.
These promotions started rolling out this week and will run for the next six months.
