“I am not no criminal”.
These were the words uttered Monday by shoe repair man Angelo Latham to members of the media as he was being escorted by members of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) to the Number One St. George’s Magistrate’s Court.
The Rastafarian Dreadlocks, walking freely, was visibly upset with photographers from both the electronic (television) and print media who were covering his court appearance.
Latham, a Vincentian National residing at Mardigras, St. George was arrested and charged for having in his possession a quantity of marijuana following a police operation at the St. George’s Market last Friday.
A search of Latham’s booth turned up 6.9 pounds of marijuana, which has an estimated street value of $14,905.00.
The accused who appeared before Chief Magistrate, Her Honour Tamara Gill on a charge of possession and trafficking in an illegal substance, was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 with two sureties.
Latham who is being represented by Attorney-at-law, Peter David is due back in court on June 21st.
