A number of restaurants and food and drink based companies gathered at the Foodland Car Park on Kirani James Boulevard last Friday to promote their products which they believe would be of interest this Christmas.
The event dubbed “A taste of Christmas” was a first time initiative by the supermarket.
It allowed for persons to sample products from the different companies and to provide them with a good idea of the products Foodland would have available for the Christmas season.
According to Marketing Officer at Foodland, Melvyn Brown, the restaurants were keen to put out samples of their Christmas menus so that persons can be aware of what different restaurants have.
“Suppliers are sampling their Christmas drinks, the Egg Nog, the wine…we have people sampling ham, black cake and so…customers get an idea as to what is the offer for Christmas”, he said.
“…Our Customers will have an idea as to what is being offered at
Foodland also they get an idea as to what is happening with restaurants who shop at Foodland,” he added.
One of the stalls on display at the event was Grenada Distillers Limited and Sales Manager of the company, Oswald “Pele” Darbeau said this event is perfect for letting the public know what products are on hand at the company.
“Events like these give us an opportunity to promote all our products amongst consumers and shoppers and also it creates awareness of our product and help keep our products top of mind among the shoppers and consumers”, he remarked.
“…This Christmas season people know Pure White (rum) is synonymous to the brand, Clarke’s Courts but we have 16 different rums, you have Black Gold, Old Grog, Rum Lemon, Rum Sorrel, Rhythm Coconut, Mojito, Special Dark, Superior Light, White Ball, Black Jack Carmahogne Spice Liqueur…” he said.
