Vincentian national, Glenroy Edwards has been nabbed by local police for the illegal possession of ganja.
The accused who was arrested for 255 grams of Marijuana last week Friday, was denied bail Tuesday by Chief Magistrate Tamara Gill at the St. George’s No. 1 Magistrate’s Court.
THE NEW TODAY understands that the illegal substance carries an estimated street value of EC$1,200.
Edwards, who is represented by Attorney-at-Law Peter David, was picked up by police officers attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), during an operation carried out in an area in St. George’s.
The accused has been charged with possession and trafficking of a controlled drug.
Edward’s arrest is not his first encounter with local police officers.
Information reaching this newspaper is that earlier this year a St. George’s High Court granted the non-national bail for another drug related offence.
Edwards was also allegedly arrested on another occasion, for driving without a valid driver’s permit.
The Chief Magistrate remanded the accused to the Richmond Hill Prison until his next court appearance on November 27.
