Supt. Trevor Modeste has been elevated to the High Command to act as an Assistant Commissioner of Police

Superintendent of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Trevor Modeste is being promoted to the post of Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police.

An authoritative source told THE NEW TODAY newspaper that Supt. Modeste will be moving from his CID office on Green Street from Monday to Police headquarters on Fort George.

He said the CID Chief will be given responsibility for Crime, a post
held by ACP Michael Francois who is being shifted to take charge of
Human Resources within the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF).

Speculation is rife that Supt. Modeste’s elevation became possible
since ACP in charge of Operations within the force, Edvin Martin is due to leave the island shortly on one-year of study leave in England
to pursue a Master’s Degree.

This newspaper understands that Assistant Superintendent of Police
(ACP) Ignatius Mason will become the defacto head of CID with the departure of Modeste.

Modeste, a former Carifta gold medalist in Javelin, is also a former winner of the coveted Sportsman of the year award in the Spice Isle.
