Thursday September 3rd and Tuesday 8th saw Sissons Paint celebrate their annual customer appreciation and educational event at two separate venues – St. Andrew and St. George.
The island’s major paint producer invited all to come and enjoy an interactive evening with them – an event which the company has held periodically since its inception in 1986.
“We do our best to sensitise both our regular and new customers as to the products and services we offer, especially letting them know how they can get the best results out of our products”, said Managing Director, Christopher De Allie.
“We decided that it would be more effective to ‘see a sermon than to hear one’, as the old adage goes” he told the gathering.
Sissons used the occasion to demonstrate interesting techniques and applications, for which their products can be used, and then invited their audience to don aprons and try their hand at the techniques shown.
These demonstrations included techniques and correct product usage for concrete staining, combining products for the best finish as well as ‘ragging’ and ‘smooshing.’
Ronelle Henry, a customer who has attended the event for several consecutive years, commended the Sissons team for hosting this innovative event each year.
“I always look forward to this annual event. The demonstrations were most informative and useful for both professionals and persons who would like to do jobs around the home”, he said.
“I would like to commend the team at Sissons for undertaking this venture, which provides information to customers on using the right techniques and combination of products so that their projects not only look good but last longer” he added.
At the end of the evenings’ events, participants who tried their skill at the techniques shown, were judged by a select panel and winners left the function with vouchers for paint products of their choice to be redeemed at Sissons, amongst other select prizes and giveaway items.
Colour Consultant at Sissons, and the lead presenter, Roger Braithwaite, noted that, “our guests were eager and willing to get involved, with great results”.
He added that the forum also “allowed us to introduce new and trending products such as Spread Stone, Roller Rock and Terrazzo, and to also answer questions in an informal atmosphere about products, techniques and the use of combined products for best results”.
The evening also saw a short presentation using Sissons Colour Visualiser Application – a digital system which allows persons to decorate ‘virtually’ – so as to see the end result of a chosen colour scheme in any room, before deciding which colours/products to buy.
Sissons also shared a preview of their new colour palette ‘Tropical Moderne’ with the audience, as the Company continues to lead the market with innovative, practical and colourful products and solutions for domestic and commercial use.
Both the Colour Visualiser and Tropical Moderne colour palette will be launched on Sissons website in the coming weeks.
In closing, DeAllie thanked customers for their continued support and their participation in the event.
He said: “Since opening our doors, Sissons Paint has established a proven track record for quality products and services. We attribute our success to our loyal customers, as well as our proactive approach to continuous improvement in all spheres. This event allows us to show appreciation to our customers by assisting them in making informed decisions, so that they can spend wisely. We are looking forward to another exciting and even more informative event next year”.
