High on the priority list is the garnering of financial support necessary for an undertaking of this magnitude and fundamental to the delivery of an event of the highest calibre.
The Festival Committee said it appreciated and welcomes the commitment given by Netherlands Insurance to the event.
Meanwhile, the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA) has pledged its full support to the Pure Grenada Music Festival.
In a statement to member associations, Jerry Rappaport, President, stated that “the Pure Grenada Music Festival can have a very positive effect on the tourism sector, and our local music community.
International Artists will be giving their time and talent to workshops for local musicians, the Festival will be a garbage free event, and the use of the brand expands and helps to develop the cultural aspect of our geotourism offering.”
Chairperson of the Festival’s Steering Committee, Jana Caniga also welcomed this new partnership arrangement.
“This endorsement could not have come at a better time for the Festival. We are at the point of finalizing our promotional material, especially for the international markets, and the GHTA’s support will only help in our publicity efforts. It also speaks volumes to the quality of commitment that we have from the local market”, she said.
The GHTA is the umbrella body for over one hundred (100) private sector establishments within the island’s tourism.
The Pure Grenada Music Festival will take place on April 5-10, 2016 across a range of venues throughout the island showcasing local artistes alongside those more internationally renowned to include folk band Madison Violet (Canada), reggae superstar Etana (Jamaica), international reggae band Steel Pulse (UK), and world music sensation Angélique Kidjo (Benin).
