Axcel Finance spreads the joy of giving with 12 days of Christmas

The region’s leading micro-finance company, Axcel Finance culminates its impressive year of charity and goodwill with a specially designed holiday giving programme dubbed: 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS.

The community based programme which started on December 1 identifies specific charities and special cases of Individuals, organizations or families in need and makes a meaningful contribution to them over the holiday season.

Country Manager of Axcel Finance, Patricia Bissessar is spearheading the local efforts and said that Axcel Finance always looks for unique ways to contribute to needy causes in society and to bring a measure of relief to the less fortunate in our midst.

She said, “twelve (12) Days of Christmas is just another one of the many programmes we have designed at Axcel Finance that is focused on improving the lives of our people. We have selected 12 causes and since December 1, our staff have been visiting these persons or organisations on behalf of our company and executing the various activities assigned to each one.”

For the first week of the programme, Axcel Finance, was assisted by the St. George’s Lion’s Club in delivering Christmas presents to the Pediatric ward of the General Hospital.




Also, a long-serving agro-processor from St. Andrew was awarded equipment and raw materials to restart her once thriving business.

On December 13, a Christmas party for over thirty of the under-privileged children from the Vendome RC School was hosted together with the St. George’s Lion’s Club.  On the same day, the Axcel Finance staff decorated the Female Surgical ward at the General Hospital.

The second week began with a luncheon for the residents and staff of the Cadrona Home for the Elderly in St. Andrew – Axcel Finance staff spent the day at the home, braiding hair, playing games and singing with the residents.

The distribution of food hampers for families in Belmont, St. George’s, and Christmas carol singing and hamper distribution in St. David in conjunction with the Eastside Carolers.

Assistant Manager, Beverly Joseph, commented “often businesses focus on promotional days during this season, we have decided to focus our efforts on the community.”

Axcel Finance has engaged in several youth oriented and community based initiatives which have and continued to make a difference in the lives of recipients.
