Preparations are being made for housing Grenada’s sixth Governor General, Dr. Cecile La Grenade.
THE NEW TODAY Newspaper has been reliably informed that a house in the south of the island is being renovated for the purpose of housing aDr. La Grenade who assumed the position of Head of State on May 7.
However, the source was unable to say how soon the house would be ready for the female Governor General.
This newspaper has learnt that the four-month old Government of Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell has decided against using the house that was occupied by the former Head of State, Sir Carlyle Glean that is also located in the south of the island.
Since her inauguration, Dr. La Grenade has been residing at her private house in St. Paul’s, St. George’s.
Government House which was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in September 2004 is yet to be rebuilt.
