NLA Employees accused of stealing SMC tickets

Police have charged two employees of the Grenada National Lottery Authority (NLA) with stealing by reason of employment.Nigel Joseph, a 40-year old driver who resides at Upper Depradine Street, Gouyave St. John’s, and 33-year old Danielle Gilbert from La Borie St. George’s who is an Office Attendant at the NLA are accused of stealing a quantity of tickets belonging to the Spice Mas Corporation (SMC).

Joseph and Gilbert are accused of stealing the tickets that are valued at $1,500.00 sometime between August 2 and 3.

THE NEW TODAY Newspaper has been reliably informed that one hundred tickets for the Children’s Carnival Frolic were presented to the NLA for sale.




Word of the loss of the tickets first came from SMC’s Chairman Colin Dowe while addressing members of the media days before the Carnival Weekend Celebrations.

This Newspaper learnt that Administrative Assistant of the SMC, Oslyn Crosby had given the tickets to one of the employees.

The missing tickets were allegedly sold by someone outside of the Grenada National Stadium while the CCF was in progress on Saturday, August 4.
